Stuff the Bus for Kids in Need

Event Details

The Simi Valley Public Library is partnering with the United Way of Ventura County on their annual Stuff the Bus campaign. The first day to drop off new school supplies at the Library is June 19. 

This community effort seeks donations of new school supplies, which will be stuffed into backpacks for children from low-income families. The backpacks will be distributed before the end of summer break to community-based organizations in Ventura County for use by the children ready for the new school year. 

The types of school supplies needed: 

· 3 Ring Binders (1”& 2”)

· Calculators

· Colored Pencils

· Construction Paper

· Crayon Boxes

· Dividers

· Erasers

· Folders

· Graph Paper

· Glue Sticks

· Highlighters

· Index Cards

· Markers

· Mechanical Pencils

· Composition Notebooks

· Paper– Wide and College    Ruled

· Pencil Boxes/Pouches

· Pencils & Sharpeners

· Pen– Blue/Black/Red

· Rulers

· Scientific Calculators

· USB Drives

· Children’s Scissors

· Staplers

The list is also posted next to the big yellow bus collection container at the Library. 

The last day to drop off school supplies at the Library is Thursday July 12
